Teacher's DaySeptember 5th, Dr.S Radhakrishnan's Birthday is celebrated as teacher's day - a tribute to the people who sculpt our future and lives. A Teacher is a very important person
who holds his student's fate in his hands.
A teacher is the most influential person in your life who holds you dearly. He/She teaches you the ways of the world out there and lights a flame in your heart that burns for eternity. They do not 'Spoon feed' a student because they know that somewhere, someday, at someplace if the student is standing alone he should be able to do his job without anyone to help him. They want to see their students stand up even if alone for a noble cause- one that could shape destiny. They want us to contribute to the society in a way of changing lives for the better. They always think for our betterment and i believe it becomes our duty to respect them.
Even if a teacher has taught several thousand students he has not succeeded. If a teacher has taught several hundred children and the students have contributed to society and remember the person who gave the foundation to their success, then that teacher has succeeded in his work. If your someone whom a teacher had taught ten years ago calls him up and wishes him on this day, the teacher will be the happiest person in the world.
A teacher is a pillar of support, an epitome of strength, as loving as a mother, as strict as a father, as caring as a friend, a disciplinarian, yet always so approachable and warm at heart. Teachers are mentors. They are students' role models. Everything they say feels right. Everything about them looks nice. From the confines of a classroom, they expose us to the real world. They prepare us to live. We definitely owe them a thank you. Let's try to find the right words to express gratitude towards our teachers. Let's thank them and appreciate them for being there for us.
Great teachers are in the talent-finding and talent-development business. A teacher must not look to the past: did they learn what I taught and did they do what I asked of them? But should aim for the future: are these students better able to succeed on their own after me and without me? A teachers must uphold standards and grade according to the scores students earned but they must sometimes bend the rules and fudge the grades on behalf of raw student talent.

In the end i would like to quote a few lines about these great personalities told by great persons;
- It is the supreme art of the teacher to awaken joy in creative expression and knowledge.
- A good teacher can inspire hope, ignite the imagination, and instill a love of learning.
- The average teacher explains complexity; the gifted teacher reveals simplicity.
- Teachers, I believe, are the most responsible and important members of society because their professional efforts affect the fate of the earth.
PM Narendra Modi has given students the wonderful opportunity to talk with him about Teacher's Day (2014) . Here is the link to the interaction he had with students and shared wonderful facts.
